i really love this kind of wrap but there some question that arose about how it is made... here'S a link: http://www3.ocn.ne.jp/~saka7733/17.htmi'll begin by asking how do we do the end knot and i mean by that where do we put the other part of ito to do it? i can't see anything about it it's just to well made to my eyes... any lights about this? anyone?

Hi,
I don't think that this is just a beginners question, so I moved it here as this is the most likely place to get the best answer.

It is TSUKAMAE of HONKA. The under is TSUKAMAE of other GANGI-MAKI. It illustrated something with a figure. Thin leather is used for GANGI-MAKI.

what i've understood from the drawing (correct me if i'm wrong) is that you must roll the edge of the leather but for that does the tsukamaki-shi limited to use very thin ito or leather? i have some leather ito but mine is thick unless i separate the seam of the ito (i hope you understand because i have a hard time explaining right now ^^' )

i don't know if i understand the drawing correctly now... what i don't understand is the knot... it looks like the leather is wrapped around the tsuka and then the knot is made but is it made in the same way as the beginning of the tsuka maki (begin flat and then twisting the cord) or is it put under a part of the spriral wrap? this wrap is sure enigmatic for someone that doesn't do any Edit: forgot to ask how wide the leather should be? the closest i've found to gangi maki in closeup is this one but the knot is really different... http://www.samuraishokai.jp/sword/10129.html

E- I think the answer lies in the note "1 unit tome" and "pastes it" - I believe the knot (tome) is made separate and glued on over the kashira... -t
