The Japanese Sword
We at the japanesesword.com, in an effort to promote the Japanese sword and Japanese sword crafts in Japan, have decided to offer the following services. We understand that many people would like to have their swords and/or koshirae restored in Japan, but do not know how to contact or communicate with anyone there. We are offering access to professional restoration and shinsa services of your choice in Japan. We can act as agents in finding polishing services for you including all of the mainline polishing schools, Hon'ami, Fujishiro, Nagayama, Ono and others. We have access to a wide range of polishers to suit the needs of most collectors.
Our other services include agents for shinsa. We can submit your blades/fittings to any of the shinsa (NBTHK, NTHK, NTHK-NPO) teams in Tokyo.
We also have access to most of the swordsmiths active in Japan today from Living National Treasures to makers of fully mounted, traditionally made Iai-Shinken. If you have a particular swordsmith from whom you would like to commission a blade, we can also facilitate this for you. For further information please click on a link.
